Jewish mystics taught that during this mid-winter time, just as the sap begins to rise in the trees, we too are invited to revitalize our own spiritual practice. 

The next Jewish holiday, Tu BiShevat--the festival of the trees--is when we honor the natural and non-human world. There are ancient customs associated with this holiday, including eating fruits and nuts with particular intentionality, and planting parsley seeds to nurture and use at our Passover seder.

The Adding Our Voices Initiative collects, documents, celebrates, and makes accessible works from Jewish musical Herstory that expand the range of gender in Jewish song, musical liturgy, and musical midrash. HER HOLY NAMES is the second concert in the Adding Our Voices: The Torah of Jewish Women in Song series. Under the auspices of the Reclaiming Judaism non-profit.
