Two virtual Seder dates, all are welcome!

Batya Diamond and Susan Cutler invite you and those in your circle to join us for this year’s Women’s Seder, open to everyone with two opportunities to participate. Our women’s seders follow the general outlines of a traditional seder, focusing on women’s stories from both ancient and modern times.

For many of us, last year’s Women’s Seder was the very first time that we gathered in celebration during the pandemic. This year’s seder will mark a complete cycle, with a chance to look back and forward, with a new lens on the symbols and teachings of the seder.

Please register below for the seder(s) you’d like to attend. Suggested donation is $18-36 per person—pay what you can—via this Venmo link, this PayPal link, or by check payable to The Wilton Jewish Center, P.O. Box 106, Wilton, CT 06897.

We are so looking forward to sharing a meaningful time with you as we celebrate the feast of freedom!

Jewish mystics taught that during this mid-winter time, just as the sap begins to rise in the trees, we too are invited to revitalize our own spiritual practice.

The next Jewish holiday, Tu BiShevat--the festival of the trees--is when we honor the natural and non-human world. There are ancient customs associated with this holiday, including eating fruits and nuts with particular intentionality, and planting parsley seeds to nurture and use at our Passover seder.

Solitude/Solace/Spirit - an immersive musical event

You're invited to an ‘un-Zoom’ musical event

featuring Batya Diamond
with the support of beloved teachers

As the days grow shorter and—especially for those of us in the north—as winter and the colder weather move in, we anticipate more time indoors and fewer chances to be with others.

Between a holiday of gratitude and reflection and the festival of lights is an opportunity to find comfort in solitude, and to resource ourselves for the season ahead.

Solitude/Solace/Spirit is an immersive musical experience where you can use this time and energy to:

  • Discover and strengthen your personal connection with THE ONE.

  • Receive ancient wisdom teachings reimagined through a modern lens.

  • Immerse yourself in the weaving of music, meditation, and ritual, finding practices that will take root and flourish in your life.

Although it will be happening on Zoom, Solitude/Solace/Spirit is not meant to be an interactive event. Rather, you are encouraged to have you video off and  not to use the chat; there will be an opportunity for those who wish to connect after a 30ish minute immersive event.

There is no charge for this offering; registration is required.

The new moon of Kislev gives us a glimmer of the LIGHT of HOPE. Join Rabbi Geela Rayzel Raphael for a Zoom Gala Gala on Rosh Hodesh Kislev for an evening of spiritual teachings, poetry, art, and emerging new voices that will help us navigate these uncharted waters.

Shavuot is a holiday that commemorates the traditional anniversary of Jews receiving the Torah. To celebrate, we stay up late studying Torah in a custom called Tikkun Leyl Shavuot, or "Rectification for Shavuot Night." This year, as COVID-19 prevents us from gathering in person, radical and leftist synagogues from cities across the country are virtually joining together for a late night of learning. We’ll also be raising money for a number of causes and campaigns: Ezra Uganda Assistance Fund, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Black Mama's Bail Out.

Workshops will feature everything from cooking workshops and text studies to panel discussions and skill shares. And there will be a late night dance party, too.

So come in your PJs for a Shavuot sleepover party (and you don’t even have to stay up all night!) (But you can!!!!)

All are welcome, regardless of membership in any of the partnering synagogues, or religious affiliation. We can't wait to learn from and with you!

***

All workshops will happen online. A schedule will be sent out to registrants before the program.

And as we plan for this event, we want to make sure we do our best to meet everyone's access needs.

We're attempting to create as inclusive and accessible an event as possible for all members of our communities. This includes people who are neurodivergent, Deaf, hearing impaired, blind or low vision, or who have learning or other kinds of disabilities not listed. It also includes people who have limited internet access.

If you have any specific access needs or requests for accommodations, including but not limited to ASL interpretation or CART, please email info@hinenubaltimore.org by Wednesday, May 27th.

Virtual Feminism All Night: Awakening with Chants of the Divine Feminine

We gather to welcome the rising sun and to raise up the divine feminine in song. ‘Shiviti’ chants are contemplative instruments to awaken and deeply root our divine essence. Based on Torah, mystical teachings and practices, woven with feminine Hebrew and English, these chants are easy to learn and rich with resonance.
